As I commute home
In the stillness of the city,
It’s fragments of
Shattered Dreams on which I tread.
I follow the sacred
Path of serenity and
Sacrifice to keep my soul fed.
Deep within the wood and
Floating out into the Jungle
The heartbeat of
Metropolis connects us all.
Native or Transplant,
Our roots are all connected,
Tangled together we answered the call.
As I commute home,
Buildings echo words immortal
Explaining what it
Takes to “Make It” here.
I continue in the lamp-lit
structured escape
And confidently deny the
Feeling of Fear.
As I commute home
,
Though there’s life around me,
Twilight reminds me
How to be alone.
And as I commute,
I know Home is all around me:
This Concrete Jungle
In which I roam.
So, I dream up dreams,
But with more lights than stars,
Not everyone’s wishes
Are meant to be.
Yet, I am proud
To be a note in the Rhythm
Of our Precious City’s
Rhapsody.
