POTA in the WILD
Are you itching to pack up a rig and head into nature? Your chance has arrived! Back by popular demand, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming Field Tech Ops session: "POTA in the Wild."
Whether you are a seasoned portable operator or have never made a contact outside of your home shack, this hands-on event is designed for you.
From Theory to the Field
Nothing beats real-world operations. "POTA in the Wild" is all about practical, hands-on application of portable radio operations. We will be stepping away from the lectures & slideshows and diving straight into real-world field operations.
During this extended session, you’ll get the chance to:
- • Deploy Antennas: See how different portable antennas are set up and learn how to optimize them.
- • Configure Stations: Learn the ins and outs of powering radios with portable batteries, setting up logging software in the field, and managing your gear.
- • Troubleshoot in Real Time: High SWR? Noise floor issues? Dead battery? Learn how to diagnose and fix common field problems on the fly.
- • Make Contacts: Get on the air from a valid POTA entity and experience the thrill of a POTA pile-up firsthand!
